Today I went to The ВЈ10 Thrift Fair at Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh. The fair is the first of its kind to come to Edinburgh, so of course I had to pop along. TheThe ВЈ10 Thrift Storeis from Glasgow andis set out like a warehouse store. Theysell retro clothing and accessories with everything for ВЈ10, including fur coats and leather! The fair were also selling their own printed ‘weirdo’ T-shirts. This is a similar idea to a pound shop, but for vintage lovers. I can only imagine the amount of people that will still ask how much something is! There are also 2 for ВЈ10 on hats and belts.
I arrived at about 11:30 for it opening at 12 and met the managing director, Greg. It was super busy as soon as it opened and lots of vintage lovers made their way in to see rails of one off pieces, each ВЈ10 (hence the name!). The fair took over the full cafe bar, perfect! I think it’s a great idea that everything is only ВЈ10 because it makes it a lot easier not having to ask how much everything is every 2 minutes and obviously because some of the items available are worth a lot more than a tenner! It can sometimes be impossible to go out with ВЈ10 and come back with a leather jacket or a shearling coat.
Everything was set out nicely with all items including 80s dresses, blouses and Levi’s sitting together, making rummaging a lot easier. I fell in love with all the jewellery and some of the dresses were to die for.
I think I will need to travel to Glasgow to see the shop, I hope they come back to Edinburgh soon!
